Jason Gibson

Jason Gibson is the Chief Commercial Officer of SportPesa. Jason leads on the day-to-day operations for the SportPesa brand across Africa including marketing and community investment initiatives.

Since joining SportPesa in 2023, Jason has supported teams across Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa to enhance the products and services that the brand brings to its 20 million customers. Under Jason’s leadership, SportPesa has continued to be one of the most recognised brands in Africa, providing essential support to sporting teams, healthcare projects and launching Tujiamini; SportPesa’s sports and talent initiative aimed at providing financial support, professional training, and mentorship to aspiring sporting stars.

Looking to the future, Jason is focused on making SportPesa the leading gaming operator in Africa by 2030. Through his deep understanding of bringing products to markets, Jason’s experience has allowed the SportPesa brand to have a clear vision for the future.

Prior to joining SportPesa, Jason was the Head of Marketing and then the Chief Executive Officer of BetLion. Before joining the betting and gaming industry, Jason worked in the telecommunications and FMCG industries. Jason holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economic and Management Sciences from the University of Pretoria.

Jason lives in Kenya with his wife and children. Prior to moving to Kenya, Jason lived in Tanzania for five years. As a born and bred African, he is passionate about supporting economic development and unleashing the potential of the continent. Outside work, Jason is a keen golfer. He also enjoys fishing, the outdoors, supporting Arsenal and the Springboks.
