Doreen Kwayu

Doreen Kwayu is the Head of Operations for SportPesa Tanzania. As part of her role, Doreen leads and supports the execution of SportPesa’s operational plans in Tanzania, ensuring that both local and global functions work seamlessly together. This involves driving efficiency, optimising processes, and improving service delivery across key business functions.

Doreen Kwayu, who has been at SportPesa for nearly a decade, also manages relationships with key stakeholders —ensuring compliance, collaboration, and smooth day-to-day operations of the Business. Kwayu is focused on driving sustainable growth and continuously shaping and improving the positive perception of the gaming industry in Tanzania.

Prior to being promoted to Head of Operations in 2023, Doreen Kwayu has worked in numerous roles in SportPesa including in digital, brand and marketing since 2017. Alongside her accomplishments in SportPesa, Doreen was one of the youngest people who completed the CEO Apprenticeship Programme, which is run by CEO Roundtable of Tanzania in partnership with Strathmore Business School. Kwayu also has a BA in Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services from the University of Hertfordshire and is a certified Board Director by the Institute of Directorship in Tanzania (IODT).

Doreen is married and has a daughter. Outside of work, Doreen enjoys playing pickleball and tennis. She also enjoys reading, travelling, and listening to music and podcasts.
