KCB Crowned Winners of 2026 SportPesa National 7s circuit

The 2026 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit ended with KCB Rugby crowned overall champions, closing a season that highlighted the strength of Kenyan rugby and the value of continued investment in the sport.
KCB finished the season with 115 points, holding off strong competition from Kabras Sugar RFC, while Menengai Oilers rounded out the top three after winning the Christie 7s season finale.
For players, clubs and fans across Kenya, the conclusion of the circuit demonstrates the continued growth of Kenyan rugby, supported by long-term investment designed to strengthen the sport at every level.
Earlier this year, SportPesa doubled its investment in the National Sevens Circuit, unveiling a KSh 34.14 million sponsorship package for the 2026 competition. The funding supported all six legs of the circuit, increased prize money, enhanced livestreaming of the games, strengthened fan engagement initiatives, and provided support for host clubs and the Kenya Rugby Union.
The circuit itself remains one of the most important pillars of Kenya’s rugby ecosystem. It provides a platform for clubs from across the country, helps emerging players gain experience at a high level, and creates a pathway for future national team stars. Players who go on to represent Shujaa, Kenya National Men’s Sevens Rugby Team, often first make their mark on the domestic sevens circuit.
SportPesa’s support for the competition builds on a broader commitment to rugby in Kenya. In recent years, the company has backed both the grassroots and elite levels of the game through partnerships with the Kenya Rugby Union, support for Shujaa, investment in historic clubs, and sponsorship of domestic competitions that help develop the next generation of talent.
Through its investment in talent and player development, SportPesa is helping create opportunities for athletes, strengthen local clubs, and bring communities together through sport. From Nakuru and Kisumu to Mombasa, Embu and Nairobi, the 2026 National Sevens Circuit showcased the passion, talent and ambition that exists across Kenyan rugby.
As KCB celebrate another national title, the wider success story belongs to the players, clubs and supporters who have made this year’s circuit such a success. Their achievements demonstrate what is possible when talent is matched with opportunity – and why continued investment in Kenyan sport matters.
That is the SportPesa Effect.
