The Coaches to Count on programme kicked off
Working with Arsenal and Southampton FC and building on our partnership with the Football Kenya Federation, we provided comprehensive training programmes for football coaches across Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.

The “Coaches to Count On” programme marked a major step in elevating football coaching across Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.
In an historic partnership with Arsenal and Southampton FC—and building on the established relationship with the Football Kenya Federation — we rolled out a comprehensive training experience aimed at empowering local coaches and strengthening grassroots football.
Throughout the programme, coaches participated in engaging workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on training that covered everything from tactical development to inclusive coaching practices. These sessions focused not only on technical expertise, but also on nurturing leadership, communication, and the ability to create safe, inspiring environments for young players.
More than a hundred coaches seized the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals, including trainers affiliated with Premier League clubs. Access to elite-level insights helped hone their coaching technique and there was a meaningful exchange of ideas and experiences.
The impact extended well beyond the pitch. Coaches returned to their communities equipped with new knowledge and a renewed sense of purpose — ready to serve as role models, motivators, and changemakers. The programme’s long-term focus ensured that the benefits would continue to ripple outward, fostering a stronger, more unified football culture.
By harnessing the power of sport and collaboration, “Coaches to Count On” laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth in African football. Its success demonstrated how intentional partnerships, and local investment can inspire transformation where it matters most: at the heart of community sport.
