SportPesa sponsors the men’s national rugby sevens team

With a focus on requalifying for the HSBC World Series, we sponsored Shujaa, which saw them win the Africa Sevens Championship and return to the global sevens circuit once more.

In 2023, SportPesa sponsored Kenya’s national rugby sevens team, Shujaa.

That year, the team won the Africa Men’s Sevens.

The SportPesa partnership was then extended in 2024 and extended and increased in 2025.

SportPesa was proud to be alongside Shujaa as they qualified for the HSBC World Series in Los Angeles, representing Kenya on a global stage. After changes to the league, Shujaa has qualified to play in the 2026 HSBC Division 2 with the ultimate aim of continuing to compete in the world’s elite competitions.

SportPesa also invests in grassroots rugby sevens, understanding that the talent pipeline is critical to the long-term success of Kenya’s game.
