SportPesa funded the renovation of the Kasarani Stadium and partnered with the Football Kenya Federation

Driven by our desire to improve Kenyan football, and one day have the national team reach the FIFA World Cup, we sought to improve the national stadium and equip the squad with the best equipment and facilities.

Driven by our desire to improve Kenyan football and one day see the national team reach the FIFA World Cup, SportPesa invested in upgrading the country’s football infrastructure.

Building on the support and investment SportPesa had made in Kenyan football to date, in 2016, we partnered with Nairobi City Council to renovate Moi International Sports Centre (also known as Kasarani Stadium) – the oldest and most iconic sporting venue in Kenya.

This was part of our wider effort to improve football facilities for teams across the country.

Investing in a stronger future for Kenyan football

The renovation included upgrading player facilities, improving seating, and ensuring the stadium met international standards. These improvements allowed Kenya’s national football team, the Harambee Stars, to host international matches on home soil, boosting morale and fan engagement.

By modernising Kasarani Stadium, SportPesa helped position Kenya as a serious contender for hosting major tournaments, while providing local players with world-class facilities.

This project cemented our commitment to the growth of Kenyan football and the development of sports infrastructure across the region.
