As part of SportPesa’s partnership with Arsenal, we were delighted to bring football legend, Sol Campbell, to Tanzania.

The visit saw the Arsenal ‘Invincible’ share his experience, knowledge and insights on football development – a practical step towards developing football in the region. Campbell’s trip formed part of a wider agreement with Arsenal to share technical experience with Tanzania and elevate football at all levels.

“Campbell is one of the most famous players in the world. His arrival in the country will, therefore, inspire many youngsters to venture into the sport,” said Tarimba Abbas, SportPesa Tanzania’s director of administration at the time. The former England captain provided essential mentorship to coaches and teams, sharing expertise from his illustrious career. Campbell also visited Muungano Sports Club for People with disabilities.

Sol Campbell also hosted local fans for a viewing of the Charity Shield encounter between Arsenal and Chelsea FC, which Arsenal won on penalties.

By combining mentorship, technical training, and community engagement, this initiative once again demonstrated SportPesa’s vision of using global partnerships to create lasting local impact.
