As part of SportPesa’s 10-year partnership with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), SportPesa has reaffirmed its commitment to working with key football stakeholders to elevate the SportPesa League to world-class standards.
The commitment follows a stakeholder dialogue that brought together participating clubs, the FKF, broadcast partners, media, match officials, and safety officers to align on a shared roadmap for the league’s future.
In its first season, the SportPesa League has already demonstrated strong competitiveness and standout branding. SportPesa and partners noted that work is ongoing to close remaining gaps and strengthen league operations, presentation, and the overall matchday experience.
Discussions focused on benchmarking against continental standards, driving commercialisation and marketing, expanding broadcast reach, enhancing safety and security, and accelerating the development and upgrading of infrastructure. Stakeholders also underscored the importance of strengthening fan engagement.
SportPesa and FKF partnership
In August 2025, SportPesa and the FKF announced a landmark 10-year sponsorship agreement focused on supporting the elevation of the standards of Kenyan football and improving the overall structure and competitiveness of the league.
The long-term partnership, worth Shs. 1.12 billion, was launched with the 2025/26 season, and is designed to maximise the league’s competitiveness and financial resilience. Sixty percent of the sponsorship will go directly to participating clubs as grants, empowering them to enhance player development, infrastructure, and professional standards. The remaining 40% is allocated to administrative and operational functions.
