The 2026 National Sevens Circuit gets underway this week, with the opening round – the Prinsloo 7s in Nakuru – taking place on 25 July. The National Sevens Circuit is Kenya’s leading club rugby sevens competition, bringing together the country’s top teams to compete across six tournaments for the national title.
Sixteen teams, split into four pools, will battle it out in this opening leg of the competition:
- Pool A: Kabras Sugar, Kenya Harlequins, Mwamba RFC, Embu RFC
- Pool B: Strathmore Leos, Daystar Falcons, MMUST RFC, Kisumu RFC
- Pool C: KCB Rugby, CUEA Monks, NYS Spades, Nondescripts
- Pool D: Menengai Oilers, Nakuru RFC, Impala RFC, KU Blak Blad
For players, clubs and fans across Kenya, the circuit marks the return of one of the most important competitions in the domestic rugby calendar.
What is the National Sevens Circuit?
As Kenya’s premier domestic rugby sevens competition, the National Sevens Circuit plays a central role in the country’s rugby ecosystem. The six-leg series brings together clubs from across the country, providing a platform for emerging talent, strengthening local rugby communities and helping develop the next generation of players.
Many players who go on to represent Shujaa, Kenya’s National Sevens team, first make their mark on the circuit, making it a vital part of Kenya’s rugby development pathway.
SportPesa’s Investment in Kenyan Rugby
This year, SportPesa has unveiled a KSh 34.14 million sponsorship package for the National Sevens Circuit, doubling its investment from the previous season and reaffirming its belief in the power of Kenyan rugby.
The competition will travel from Nakuru to Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa and Embu before culminating with the iconic Christie 7s in Nairobi in September:

- Dala 7s (Kisumu): August 1–2
- Kabeberi 7s: August 15–16
- Driftwood 7s (Mombasa): August 22–23
- Embu 7s (Embu): September 5–6
- Christie 7s (Nairobi): September 12–13
