SportPesa have been proud sponsors of Kenyan football giants Gor Mahia since 2016, forging one of the most successful partnerships in East African football.

In that first season the team went all the way to the top, winning the Kenyan Premier League title.

After an initial two-year deal, SportPesa then renewed the collaboration in 2022 and again in 2025, cementing an unprecedented six consecutive years together. The sponsorship covered everything from player kits, medical insurance and travel expenses for continental competitions.

It has certainly been a very fruitful relationship with Gor Mahia winning the league title again in both 2023 and 2024, extending their record as Kenya’s most decorated club and unlocking extra investment.

Beyond domestic success, the partnership created historic opportunities for Gor Mahia on the global stage. Through SportPesa’s international links, the club played high-profile friendlies against Hull City in Nairobi, Everton FC in Dar es Salaam, and later at Liverpool’s Goodison Park – the first time a Kenyan club played on English soil. These matches showcased Kenyan football to the world and gave Gor Mahia players invaluable exposure to elite competition.
